Case2: Air Chartering, Story of "Lucent Technology", one of our valued customers

The Needs:

Lucent Technologies, a world-renown telecommunication company and the leader in broadband networking had two urgent bulk shipments needed to be shipped from Chicago, USA to Sydney, Australia. One shipment consists of 434 pieces of telecommunication equipment at gross weight of 59,028kgs with volumes of 99,085kgs. The other shipment consists of 74 crates of batteries at gross weight of 14,073kgs. The combined gross weight is 73,101kgs, with volumes of 103,107kgs.

Dimerco's Flexible and Time-Definite Services:

Dimerco Chicago had made the "time-definite service" possible at the 1999 peak season and chartered a 747 freighter from Singapore Airlines for these two urgent bulk volume shipments. Dimerco Chicago had responded to Lucent Technology within only several hours and arranged Singapore Airlines, one of Dimerco's carriers, to shuffle its freighters, reroute this flight, and secure landing permission from Australian authorities all in one night.

We acknowledged the dedicated efforts from our excellent internal management teams. Their combined efforts and great teamwork had provided customer-oriented services that Lucent Technology needed immediately. Moreover, Dimerco had gained the leverage from our partner, Singapore Airlines, for flexible and efficient services.
